So you want to travel the ICW (Inter-Coastal Waterway) with a mast higher than 65 feet!  This boat came in last night at Vero Beach. It has an 80 foot mast and 7 foot 10 inch draft. Each water bag weighs 2000 pounds.

Subject: Members' access to websites

Poul,

It was agreed at the UKWA committee meeting on Saturday that members of overseas NCA's should have access to the members only section of the UK Website. Bob Harland may therefore make an occasional request to check that a subscriber is a current member of the relevant NCA.

Best wishes,

Ralph

Subject: Checking In

Hi, Gary:

... I had hoped to get to this past Saturday's Gathering but the car logistics couldn't be worked out. Looking forward to Sat 15 March where my topic seems pretty open. Has anyone indicated any preference for what they'd like to hear? We could make it an open Q/A period?

Or, Upwind Sail Tuning Made Simple would be a useful topic that I think is the best thing I have ever done. If it isn't too similar to this past Saturday's topic, I could bring the PDF version on a CD and we could go through it if you can get a projector and a screen? Have a look at it and see what you think. At the very least, you'll like the fact that it is illustrated with lots of CL pics from the - now defunct - Can Am regattas at Hilton Beach.

Talk to you soon,

Uncle Al  (W3854)

Hello Master Sailor!

I think your presentation is extremely good and would probably like to take advantage of it. I will ensure a projector and screen are made available. There is a lot of information so I will speak to people and get an idea on what areas we want to focus on.

Take care and will speak with you soon.

Hi, Gary:

Have polished the PDF version - now posted - and will be all set to go on the 15th. Obviously, there is no way I should just read it to people. Instead, I thought I'd just go through the major points, perhaps relying on the images and brief commentary to get us through the whole thing. The best thing should be that people can ask for explanations of what I have not made clear enough.

May possibly see you on Saturday the 1st, but on the 15th for sure!!

Best regards,

Uncle Al  (W3854)

Subject: the AGM vote?

OK, gang! Come on, be nice. Can someone let me know how yesterday's vote went, regarding the proposal?

Thanks and best regards,

Accepted!

The vote was overwhelmingly in favour - I don't have the exact figures but something like 190 for and 22 against.

Now we can all get on with our lives.

Kind regards,

Gordon

Al's note: The CWA and USWA have already officially approved this solution, and the SWS has given its unofficial blessing. Ratification by NedWA is expected soon. In essence this means the solution is now WIC-approved!
