"Someone's in the kitchen with Susan, someone's in the kitchen, I kno-o-ow" North Bay YC volunteers were once again serving breakfast, and above, Julia and Pat (r) are about to take advantage.
...

This being July 1st, the day of the NBYC's annual Canada Day Race, a few early-rising club members
who would motor the 12 miles to the North Bay start line were also with us.
...

Having been kindly offered a tow, Tony (white hull) and Andrew (green hull) opted for the complete experience.
...

... sailing off. Up where we were standing outside the Suites, the winds were cool and pretty gusty, so Al opted for the drive to the North Bay government dock, Julia having volunteered to drive our trailer back to the NBYC.  - click here for full-size pic

... things were rather bouncy, especially with no sails drawing to dampen the motion, and the two lads ...

As we reached up and down the long, long start line, some pretty nasty gusts came through,
nasty enough to capsize at least Wayfarer before the start, I believe.

Dwight and Pat (4606) zip down the line, passing a Grampian 30.

Little realizing that their rudder will break near J5, Fred Black and Marc Tessier happily cruise along before the race.

Somebody above is sighting the line but we are still several minutes from the start.
