in second place. Looks like this reach will be pretty patchy and
shifty, as Marc tries ... ... |

rounded 4th) ... ... |

| The major veer (starboard lift)
will have "killed" anyone way off to the left side of the beat. (l to r) Paul, Sue, Tony, Andy ... |

Sue is about to round, as is
Andy Douma (555) with son, Tom. The latter needs to guard against the
temptation to pinch around the mark in a false economy of trying to
avoid two more tacks - if they
keep their speed up, two tacks cost next to nothing, but sitting at the
mark will be damaging.

| Coming in from the right side
are Jason and Lori who are now on a beam reach due to the major
starboard lift. Even Paul and Marilyn Pinault are reaching in ahead of
Tony and Mary. Looks like Jason and Lori had hopes for ... ... |

| ... better things here! ... |

| Alas, our rookie, Andy, is
learning the hard way, that you have to keep the boat moving forward. I
believe they finally did tack but left it too late and tacked when they
had lost most of their forward momentum. Now they have to tack back to
keep clear of the starboard boats, and are about to ... ... |
