Ben gets his speed back up just in time to keep Marc (864) from taking his wind.

Mike and Lilly then round just ahead of Al and Ken, as Roger and Rae re-enter the picture.

Who can ask a crew that's having this much fun to interrupt what she's doing and raise the board (if she has the strength)?

Roger moseys around, followed by ...

Having started by going low, Dwight and Al (3rd and 4th from left) are now back on the rhumb line to the gybe mark which has been moved to a position off the dam. Ben (5th from left) is the first to risk the spinny in this wind that has reverted to light and patchy.

Approaching the gybe mark. Brian and Crystal show fine spinnaker-reaching form in Afternoon Delight (6082) as they continue to hold off Dwight and Pat in Eclairelle. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have better breeze - which is one of the reasons Kirk and Virginia (421) aren't losing much ground even without a chute. Out of the picture - but not figuratively - are Al and Julia, who ...   - click here for full-size pic

Leading, but not ...
...

... by much!!! Still, with an expected beam- to close reach coming up, it's a crucial advantage to be leading.

... #3 (the leeward mark) in the North Arm of Lake Conestoga. Fingers crossed - so far David von Wahl's rescue services have yet to be required. Judging by apparent mast height, Al has increased his lead while Dwight has moved past Brian (r) into 2nd place.

Having given up on Al, Brian sails a bit high to "cover" Dwight.
...

Al and Julia nail down their second straight comfortable win.
...
Equally comfortable in 2nd place are Brian and Crystal, a position clearly ...
...
... being envied by Al Nichols who has not had a good race and still has to go to the leeward mark and beat back before finishing.

As Mike and Lilly cross astern, Brian and Crystal prepare to celebrate their ...
...

... excellent 2nd-place finish.
...

A great race for Kirk and Virginia, too, as they place 3rd and beat one of North America's top Wayfarer racers, Dwight Aplevich.
...
And it'll be 5th place for ...
...

... Mike and Lilly.
