Trudy Davis presented the Ted Davis Memorial Trophy (best log of the year),
to a new Wayfarer, Ted Rosen, for his fine description of his 2009 North Channel cruise with Scott Eckert.

You may have noticed that Ted looks very fit and healthy. He's is a world-class tri-athlete!!

The Queen City YC tray which goes to the Most Improved team of the year was won by Conestoga's Leo Van Kampen (above) and ...

... his wife Joanne. The trophy (below) was thought to be lost but fortuitously found in a TSCC office near the end of the evening. Our Trophy Secretary, Alastair Ryder-Turner, will have it engraved and presented to Leo and Joanne shortly.

Last year, our executive decided to re-dedicate the Lansdown-O'Brien Spittoon. It will henceforth be awarded for "feats of unique seamanship". Above, we have Uncle Al accepting on behalf of his crew, Nick Seraphinoff (above right), whose sideways spi hoist at a very tense time in last year's US Nationals in Lake Eustis made their series even more exciting!

Scott Ramsay was the CWA's 2008 Rookie of the Year. But that trophy continues to be missing,
so we had Scott pose with the Storer Trophy instead, which was in fact won by ...

four major North American Wayfarer events) - the only Wayfarer to attend all four of the events.

Last year, I wrote: Rob Wierdsma was the CWA's 2008 Rookie of the Year. But that trophy appears to have gone missing, so we had Rob pose with the Red Herring Award instead. That trophy was in fact won Rob and his son, Daniel, this year. Well done!!

Trudy Davis was on hand to present the Don Davis Memorial Trophy (years of exceptional service to the Wayfarer Class in North America) to North Carolina's Jim and Linda Heffernan (above) but they could not make the long trip to accept the CWA's highest honour which will instead be presented to the Heffernans at the Midwinters in early February.
