Dick Harrington with Margie Cervenik (W887, Blue Mist) and Tom and Diane Erickson (W275, Possum) beat out of Button Bay into the remnants of the morning's southwesterly breeze with the Adirondacks  as a lovely backdrop.

(above left) There'll be more pictures coming to this site - from Dick and Margie, for instance, who are manging both good trim and good shots. When you're cruising, you're allowed to sit in the "Darrell Hicks" position, leaning your back against the aft bulkhead, but for racing, the crew weight would be much further forward to lift the wider aft part of the boat out of the water and reduce the wetted surface.   (above right) Knowing the camera was near by, Ivan shows total concentration on the spinnaker while Annemarie steers a true course under the watchful eye of Charlotte.

Saturday was also Possum's last day at Button Bay so Tom (left) sailed her over to the ramp after dropping Diane off. Meanwhile, the bullrushes proved to be the best mooring spot on the shingle beach which made for a wet walk to shore (right) for Jim, Abbey and Brenda.
