Our by now beloved "Pony Express" (as Marc has named our centreboard for its resemblance to a galloping horse) is ready for action, having been fitted with the finest stopper knobs available at the local Home Hardware. Note how we have gone a bit inside the "83° line" that Marc had scratched on the board just to absolutely sure we didn't break the Class Rule that limits the board's down angle to 83°. The horse's reins are our pull-up rope. The non-recessed centreboard brake, by the way, worked perfectly all weekend long.
Other items worth noting: Our 6:1 vang (upper left) that we brought with us also was just perfect for our needs, as was the spare 6' 6" spinnaker pole (lower left) which we used as a whisker pole.
In the upper middle above, you can see the piece of batten that Marc duct-taped to the forward end of each front bench which on the CL, has the unfortunate propensity to catch jib sheets during tacks. Not visible above is the fact that we took out the rear benches to facilitate roll tacking and between-race lounging on the floor of the boat.
