20+ Boats Enjoy 2023 Fenton Open: Bennetts, Pughs Lead Wayfarers

2023.09.29  Five Wayfarers, six Rebels and a dozen miscellaneous dinghies turned out to enjoy Lake Fenton SC's second annual Open Regatta Sept. 23-24 in pleasant sailing weather and light to medium winds. As Regatta Chair, Tim Nickels, reports: "We had three fleets, Wayfarer, Rebel, and Open. The Open was an eclectic assortment of various classes. Beautiful weather yesterday, sunny, mid 70-'s with winds 7-12 (above). We managed four races. Today was beautiful weather, too, sunny but low 60s in the morning, lows 70s in the afternoon, with tough winds, starting around 6 knots but tapering off to 2 maybe 3 tops by the finish (below). We only managed one of the two scheduled races this morning. We look forward to having you next year! Regatta photos now posted. No big surprises in the Wayfarer results (below) where all five teams matched their seeds.
